A visit to site today was encouraging. The brickwork has been completed and it looks great, a really quality job completed thanks to Carl and his team of bricklayers form Chichester.
We got to welcome Jamie Hunt to site who will be the carpenter responsible for framing out the remainder of the building and therefore has a big chunk of work to get through in the next couple of months. We had a great meeting thrashing out the details today and he presented me with a really great sample of the wood cladding that needed a construction solution. I am really positive that Jamie and his team will embrace the spirit of this project and responsibly deliver on the expectations we all have. Fair winds Jamie!
On the other hand we are having a very bad time with the window frames. The design intent cannot be realised and we are very late in learning this from Apropos, our supplier. They need to work hard now to turn this around and propose something that we can accept and is in line with what we were sold. The supply chain for the glaziers is always a complex one and you can never do enough due diligence to understand what it is that you are being offered. I am sure we will turn this around, but it is time for my supplier to step up and be creative.
