What a view!

I have been remiss with my blog and I have left it far too long since I last updated our progress. This was mainly because I was too busy, but partly because I wanted to see some tangible progress to be able to report. We have progressed at some pace up until now, the frame and building now have form and the carpentry is essentially complete. The quality of the work done by Jamie Hunt and his son is first class, we are very happy with everything that he has been able to realise. We have reached a point where we really need the follow on trades, such as roofing and first fix M&E. The roofing should start this week and the windows follow in March. The windows are late, which seems to be the norm with building, mainly because we changed systems and that took some time to 'iron out'. The fact the windows are late means that the follow on trades internally cant really start in earnest until the building is enclosed which means we have lost a good month overall in our programme.

The great thing about where we have reached is that you can now really appreciate the building scale externally as well has now clearly seeing the views framed by the openings that have been created ultimately to receive the windows. We also now get a real sense of the rooms, their size and the circulation space. The view from the main space is epic! I think the location and orientation of the building is just right. So a big thanks to the team at Strom Architects for getting that right.
