We have seen a new team arrive on site this week in the form of bricklayers. The man in charge is Carl, and he and his team have done a beautiful job with our brickwork, which was non existent at the beginning of the project and now seems to be quite significant. It was the right answer to enclose the area below ground floor in dense bricks and I think the colour choice is going to work well. We are getting ready for the carpenter with the scaffold being installed. Our ground worker has found a better looking gig and has left us. Its a bit of a drag as there is lots to still do. I am looking forward to the carpentry starting this week, we need to see this taking the shape of a building before long. Having seen how much space we have under the building, it makes me realise we need to use it. So we don't have a basement, but will have a 'storage undercroft' - apparently all they are the 'must have' these days if you don't live in Chelsea.
Why no basement?
